An x-ray can be used to guide the insertion or removal of tubes, wires or other devices. A PICC Line insertion requires x-rays to ensure the catheter is positioned correctly within a vein.
These may be done in the radiology department by our staff or in theatre with a surgeon and radiographer in attendance to operate the machine.
