Jones Radiology has dedicated breast imaging mammogram services in five metropolitan locations and several regional clinics.
These clinics have dedicated breast teams, including a breast radiologist, mammographers, and breast sonographers. General practitioners, and breast and plastic surgeons can make referrals to these services.
We offer the latest in diagnostic breast imaging technology, including mammography with tomosynthesis, Volpara breast density software, ultrasound and biopsies, including Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) and Core Biopsies. We also perform pre-operative localisation procedures such as carbon tracking and hookwire placement.
Our teams at 337 South Terrace Radiology Centre and Burnside Hospital conduct daily breast clinics; the breast surgeon and radiology team consult together to manage patients with breast symptoms or those who are at high risk of breast cancer. With patient consent, diagnoses of breast cancer are discussed for management and optimal prognosis.
At our St Andrew’s Hospital MRI, we offer MRI and MRI biopsies. Our St Andrew’s and Burnside clinics offer Stereotactic and Tomosynthesis Vacuum-Assisted Core Biopsies (VAB).
Referrals for Fine Needle Aspirate/Biopsies can be made by your general practitioner. Our specialist breast radiologist will review your case, and determine what test is appropriate depending on your symptoms or clinical history.
If a biopsy is required, the results will be available from your referring doctor, usually on the following day.
If you or your doctor have any queries, our staff are happy to discuss them with you.
