At Jones Radiology, we are proud to be at the forefront of image-based pain procedures.
We’re thrilled to share that our Hyaluronic acid services are expanding to our Prospect and Port Augusta clinics, giving even more South Australians access to this effective treatment closer to home.
Bookings are now open for Hyaluronic acid services for appointments from Tuesday 21 July at Prospect and Wednesday 22 July at Port Augusta.
The Port Augusta expansion brings this treatment closer to home for our Eyre Peninsula community, reducing the need to travel long distances for specialised care.
What is Hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is used to relieve joint pain caused by osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, shoulder and ankle. It is an injectable synthetic version of hyaluronan, the key ingredient of synovial fluid found naturally in the joint space. With osteoarthritis, the normal synovial fluid becomes dysfunctional, leading to friction and inflammation. By lubricating the joint, Hyaluronic acid may reduce pain and reinstate joint flexibility and mobility, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life for patients.
Hyaluronic acid is performed using CT guidance, allowing our Radiologists to accurately target the affected joint for the best possible outcome.
