We are excited to congratulate A/Prof Kirsten Gormly on recently receiving the honorary title of Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Adelaide. This recognition reflects her exceptional contribution to clinical leadership, education, research and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
Since joining Jones in 2009, A/Prof Kirsten Gormly has held several important internal leadership positions, including Chair of the Clinical and Quality Committees, Clinic Director at Kurralta Park, and MRI Modality Director. She continues to contribute to multidisciplinary cancer care meetings and remains deeply involved in education. She is involved in local and multinational research projects, representing Medical Imaging on the South Australian Prostate Cancer Clinical Outcomes Collaborative (SA-PCOCC) research committee and national GI Cancer Trials Lower GI working group.
Her work is recognised internationally, as an elected Fellow of the International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS) and the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR). As past Chair and executive member of The Abdominal Radiology Group of Australia and New Zealand (ARGANZ), Kirsten also promotes collaboration across abdominal imaging organisations and clinical specialties in Australia, New Zealand and abroad, helping to advance imaging standards and improve patient outcomes.
This honorary appointment places her alongside fellow Jones Radiologists, Clinical Professor Christen Barras and Associate Professor Sandy Patel – who are also recognised by the University of Adelaide for their contributions.
Congratulations to A/Prof Kirsten Gormly on this well-deserved achievement.
