Jones Radiology is pleased to welcome Dr Suzan Bahadir to the practice.
Dr Bahadir brings extensive international experience, having trained and worked across Turkey, Germany, France and Australia. She completed her radiology training in Turkey before undertaking fellowships in thoracic imaging in Heidelberg, Germany, oncologic imaging in Montpellier, France, and general radiology in Perth.
With special interests in abdominal, thoracic, oncologic and musculoskeletal imaging — including advanced MRI and CT techniques — Dr Bahadir is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic care.
When welcoming Suzan to the team, we asked her a few questions to get to know her better.
If you weren’t a Radiologist, what would you be?
“Radiology has always been my passion, so I can’t imagine choosing another medical specialty. Outside of medicine, I’d happily work in technology, science or research — perhaps even engineering. I also love painting portraits, and if time allowed, exploring traditional and interesting recipes in the kitchen would be another strong option.”
If you could have dinner with anyone (past or present), who would it be and why?
“Marie Curie would be at the top of my list — as a pioneering woman in science, her discoveries laid the foundation for today’s imaging technologies, and I would love to speak with her about how far the field has evolved. I’d also choose Sultan Fatih Mehmet, reflecting my Ottoman ancestry and admiration for his wisdom and leadership in ruling a vast empire with vision and intellect. And Martin Luther King Jr, whose courage, intellect and passion for civil rights remain deeply inspiring in today’s world.”
Why did you choose Jones?
“Jones Radiology felt like the perfect fit. The senior clinicians are highly respected role models within the radiology community, known for their expertise, integrity and kindness. The practice’s strong reputation, patient-centred approach and ethical standards align closely with my own values and academic background. I was also drawn to the subspecialty-based general radiology model and look forward to contributing my expertise while continuing my academic journey with the University of Adelaide School of Medicine.”
