Dr Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from University of Adelaide in 1994.
He then underwent specialist radiology training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and upon completion was awarded a Fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).
Dr Thompson completed two Fellowships in Interventional Radiology at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and at The Hammersmith Hospital in London, UK.
Upon his return to Australia, Dr Thompson worked as a full time Staff Specialist at Flinders Medical Centre before venturing west as a Partner at the Perth Radiological Clinic. In Western Australia he also worked as a Visiting Specialist at Fremantle Hospital.
Dr Thompson joined Jones Radiology in 2007 and was Managing Partner from 2010 – early 2014.
He is an experienced general radiologist with special interests in CT, cardiovascular imaging and interventional radiology. Dr Thompson is also accredited for performance and reporting of CT Coronary Angiography.
Dr Thompson works predominately at the Jones Radiology Calvary Adelaide Hospital and St Andrew’s Hospital clinics and also holds a part time position as Staff Specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
