Dr Sophie Thoo commenced with Jones Radiology in 2023. She obtained her MBBS from the University of Adelaide in 2014, followed by her FRANZCR qualification in 2023 and FAANMS in 2024.
Dr Thoo’s training includes radiology training in South Australia and the Northern Territory from 2018 to 2021, complemented by year 1 Nuclear Medicine Fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2022 and year 2 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in 2023.
Her special interests have a focus on oncology imaging, particularly combining conventional and molecular imaging techniques for cancer staging and management. Additionally, Dr Thoo is passionate about neurodegenerative imaging, with MRI and PET/CT to diagnose neurodegenerative conditions.
Dr Thoo has a public appointment as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist at Flinders Medical Centre. Additionally, Dr Thoo takes special interest in trainee wellbeing, having held positions on the RANZCR Clinical Radiology Trainees Committee and AANMS Trainees Interest Group Committee.
Beyond her professional interests, in her leisure time Dr Thoo enjoys running, having completed marathons in Adelaide, New York, and the Semaphore Coastal Marathon. She also extends her support to the Adelaide Strikers cricket team.
