You may have been aware of the worldwide shortage of intravenous contrast used in CT studies. We are pleased to let you know that we have now reached a safe supply range and have returned to our regular intravenous contrast protocols earlier than expected.
Intravenous contrast is used in some CT studies to allow better differentiation of the soft tissues and can help define what is seen on the scan.
Our aim during the shortage was to ensure optimal use of our contrast supplies, without compromising diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Our relationships with SA Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Michael Cusack and the LHN CEOs and the diligence and expertise of our amazing clinical team allowed us to achieve this aim.
If you were waiting to book your appointment, we are happy to advise that you can do this now.
